So it’s called Creative OPs, but what is it?
Creative OPs is the name we’re giving to a new feature in IMG. With each issue, there will be a theme assigned and a few pages of that issue will be dedicated to how different artists interpret that theme. Artists are welcome to submit their interpretation in any form they desire - photography, paint, poetry, pretty much anything goes. You can create new work specifically for the issue, or send in something you’ve done in the past that embodies your interpretation, the choice is up to you. And you can submit as many pieces as you would like - far be it from us to stiffle creativity.
To share your work as a part of the Creative OP, just submit it like you would any other piece. That means either emailing it to submissions@imgmagazine.net or using the
submission form at www.imgmagazine.net/submit.php. The only difference is that you need to let us know that your submitting the work for Creative OPs and that there is no need for a biography. We will however include a listing of each artist taking part and a means to contact them alongside - so be sure to send us the contact info you’d like to have included.
The themes are open to discussion on the forums at www.forums.imgmagazine.net under Creative OPs so make your thoughts known and we’ll choose from the ones that strike our fancy.
We’re getting started with the theme “Holidays” so get out there and show us what you think of when thinking holidays and send it in. Stop by the forums to learn more and weigh in with your thoughts, questions, suggestions and random rants.
So what’s on the horizon you ask. This:
“Holidays”
Issue #10 - December 2006
Deadline: December 15
“New Beginnings”
Issue #11 - February 2007
Deadline: February 16
“Growth"
Issue #12 - April 2007
Deadline: April 13
Be sure to get your submissions in on time to take part.

Big News on the IMG front, we're officially old - or something like that anyways. The June issue will mark the beginning of year two for IMG and we plan to do it in a big way. We have a new look for Issue 7 and some new features in the works that will make their debut in the coming year.
But we can't do it without the continued support of the artists that fill our pages. We're still looking for submissions for June's Issue #7, so whether you're new to IMG or an old favourite, if you have some new work to share, please do by using the form on our website at www.imgmagazine.net/submit.php or by sending an email to submissions@imgmagazine.net. Deadline for submissions is June 16 with the issue being released shortly after that.
As always, IMG continues to be a freely downloadable magazine completely driven by reader submissions. It's an opportunity for new talents to emerge and for established artists to show what got them where they are. We're not here to judge what is and is not art, and so as you look through the pages of IMG you'll see many diverse talents and experimental work that may not always be well received in a larger audience.
To date there are over 4700 copies of IMG spread all over the world and that number is growing everyday. But we only become stronger with numbers. So be sure to share this message with all your friends and famiily, fellow artists and lovers of art alike.

We haven't totally disappeared. I know all has been pretty quiet on the IMG front in the past month, but it seems life always gets in the way of better plans. But we're back now and gearing up for the release of IMG Magazine Issue #4.
Once again, a huge thank you goes out to all the artists that have helped make IMG such a success so far. However, we're looking for your help again. IMG Issue #4 is scheduled for release in just a few weeks time and we are looking for submissions. Yes, it's tough to find time as we lead up to the holidays, but try to spare a few minutes and share your talents with the world. There are two ways to submit your art. Firstly by pointing your web browser to our Submit page you will find two handy forms for submitting news and events and a second for submitting your artwork, the latter being a three step process involving submitting information about your work, confirming the submission of such, and then uploading the actual art itself to our servers.
The other method of submission simply involves sending an email to submissions@imgmagazine.net. Be sure to attach any artwork you would like to submit and include as much information as you would like to share about your work and yourself. To get a better idea what we are looking for, take a look at what is included in past issues or by looking at the submission form mentioned above.
Also, the forums are back online. Be sure to stop by and introduce yourself, see what others are doing and fill us in on any upcoming events or exhibitons.

It's the home to our new forums where you can share your thoughts on art, the magazine, the featured artists, or even the price of eggs in China should you be so moved.
Also be sure to pass this message along to your friends and family and help our community grow.

Good News
After much longer than expected, the dreaded "Coming Soon" page has been removed and the Speak link actually goes somewhere. The IMG Forum is now in operation. It's a place to make your comments on the magazine or its featured artists, to announce your upcoming exhibitions and events, show other users your master techniques, or just generally speak your mind.
Take a look at www.imgmagazine.net/phpBB/
And as always, spread the word about IMG and let our community grow.

Greetings all
It's been a hectic place around here of late and IMG hasn't recieved the attention it deserves. Well we shall attempt to remedy that now.
First off, many, many thanks to all the artists who have submitted work and helped to make IMG a success. If you haven't yet, be sure to read both issues to see some of the amazing work being submitted, then follow up by visiting their websites. Many artists have a website which can be linked to from their page in the magazine or from the master list of friends of IMG on our Friends of IMG List
Their work has now been featured in well over 1000 downloaded issues and work is in progress to have IMG added to the Canadian national archives to be preserved for future generations.
Our third issue is upcoming and promisses to be bigger and better still. To make sure of this, we're still looking for your art. Whether you're a poet, a painter, a song-writer, a graphic artist, a photographer, or just someone on the street with a pen, we want to hear from you. Remember that IMG is a 100% submission driven magazine for all forms of art that helps to put the artsits work in front of thousands of people. We avoid placing a definition on what is and is not art and encourage your thoughts and submissions to help put it all into perspective. You can use our handy online upload script to submit your works by going to our Online Art Submission Page or send an email to submissions@imgmagazine.net
We're also always looking for news, contests and events. Have something to add? Use the Online News Submissions Form or send an email with all the details to news@imgmagazine.net
Deadline for submissions for issue 3 is October 14, 2005. Be sure to get your work in by then to be featured in the October issue. Missed the deadline? Don't fret. Your work will be considered for our upcoming issues no matter when you submit it.
We're also always looking for your thoughts, questions, comments, suggestions and rants. Let us know what you think of what we're doing, what's going on in the art world or just life in general. We're always available via email.
Have something more to say. Send us your articles. Anything art related is welcome, whether it be how to write the next bestseller, finer points of composition, or methods of your new air-hockey table painting technique, all is welcome. Even reviews and opinion pieces.
Be sure to keep checking the site for the latest updates, and as always, spread the word and let our forum grow.
August 17, 2005
It took a little longer than expected, but IMG is back and almost twice as big as last time out with 11 artists represented. You can check it out at www.imgmagazine.net/issues.php
Have something to say? We're always listening. You can contact me with your rants, raves, questions, comments, and ideas at brandon@imgmagazine.net. Like what you see? Be sure to pass the word on to your friends, family, and even random people on the street. Let's watch our community grow.
August 1, 2005
And suddenly it was August. I for one have lost complete track of time and my mind still hovers somewhere in mid-May, and yet in little more than a month I'm moving back up to the hinterland. It's rather scarry in a way. The other thing this quick passage of time means is that we're getting ever closer to issue #2. The deadline for submissions is Friday, August 12 and if all goes according to plans you should see the next issue shortly thereafter. We've been receiving some great works again for this issue, but can always use more, so if you have something to share, stop by our Submissions page for more information. As of right now we're rather lacking in visual content and quite heavy on literary works. That's all I have for you for now, hopefully next time it won't take me another month to return. Until next time, keep spreading the word.
June 23, 2005
Issue 1 has now been downloaded by more than 600 people. I think that constitutes a success. It seems to me that there must have been quite a few people looking for something to bring together the arts community to get a response like this in so little time. That's what we aim to do here, bring people interested in the arts together. But it can't happen without your help. Let us know what you would like to see in upcoming issues by dropping a line to brandon@imgmagazine.net. Send us your art submissions and news stories for inclussion in the next issue - scheduled for mid to late August. Spread the word about IMG to your friends, family, enemies, and even that creepy guy down the street. Let's help this community grow. And many thanks to those of you who have helped out already, either by submitting art, lending moral support, or just downloading the issue or cruising around this site. Without you this would be nothing but another empty site that people occasionally stumbled over.
And in the spirit of spreading the word, one of the latest arts sites to come online is the home of Gwendolyn Boyes-Sitler. I've had the pleasure of working with Gwen to get her work online and we're almost there now. Not everything is fully functional, but take a stop by Cherish Creek Studio and see what we have accomplished so far and check back soon to see the finished product.
June 15, 2005
I suppose this has been a success. In the first 24 hours that IMG #1 was online, more than 1200 people visited the site and 350 copies of the magazine were downloaded. And plans are already under way to make the next issue bigger and better. Let us know what you think, drop us a line with your thoughts and comments.
June 14, 2005
At long last, the premiere issue of IMG is here. Check out the issues page for more information and to download your own copy. Take a look through and contact us with your thoughts, comments, questions, concerns, suggestions, and random rants. Everyone is welcome to comment and truly make this a community affair.
Many thanks go out to all the people who helped get this issue off the ground. The list is lengthy and I'm sure to miss someone, so I won't even try, you know who you are. And remember, it's never too early to submit your work for the next issue, scheduled for mid to late August.
June 1, 2005
Just a quick note to let everyone know that the problems encountered earlier with the upload script has been fixed. If you have art to upload, stop by our submission page.
May 31, 2005
Check out the new friends page for links to some of the people that help make IMG happen.
The submissions for the premiere issue are starting to come in - but there's still more room for your masterpieces. Swing by our submission page and share your talent with the world. It will make you rich and famous - or not - but it certainly can't hurt. Otherwise, I shall return to work and the stench of fire and chemical. Hope to hear from you soon.
May 21, 2005
So the premiere issue seems to be coming together. I hope to see all the submissions in by the middle of June and release the issue by the end of the month. In the mean time here's a few links to tie you over. Go see what's new with The Painting Doctor at Pearce Empire or for those involved in the literature end of art, stop by Brady Magazine for all the latest news
May 12, 2005
It took a little work and a long night, but the upload scripts are working now, which means if you have any news or events to report, you need only fill out a simple form. And if you wish to submit some of your work for publication in the next issue, you simply fill out another form and use our handy upload page. How Handy!
May 8, 2005
At long last, the site has been launched. Stay tuned as we work to get everything up and operational and prepare the first issue for your viewing pleasure. Release date should be some time in June. Join the mailing list to be contacted with all the news and happenings at IMG.
